Putting the pieces together and making things work:
Sandra Christian.

It is time to say 'thank you' to all the people involved in achieving this milestone: our web site is up and running! Kevin Weber started the process by putting together and placing a free splash-up home page on the Internet hosted by Geocities. It gave some basic information about the club and some of its groups.

About a year later, Victor Wendl approached the club for funding to host the web site on a commercial site so that a domain name could be chosen and registered. He was given the green light to proceed. Kevin, Victor, and Sandy Christian tossed around various possibilities, and finally agreed on the domain name of germanstl. Victor Wendl put together an overall strategy, got the domain name registered and listed on the more popular search engines, so that people anywhere in the world on the Internet can contact us either by our domain name or by key words that describe the activities of our organization.

Once the domain name was registered, Sandy transferred the web site to its new home and gave it a more professional, polished look. She created the graphic design that is the organizational structure and framework of our web page. She did it all. In the absence of usable graphic data, she recreated the logo of this organization, and the result is an improvement over the original. She literally input hundreds of changes and updates, adding graphics, descriptions, sound, and the guestbook.

As the senior members of the team, Sepp Neulinger and I provided input on the structure of the organization and went with a fine-tooth comb through anything German on this web site. But most of all, we watched this thing unfold. It was truly amazing! Based on the enthusiasm and hard work our young people have shown on this project, we don't have to worry about the future of this organization. It will be in good hands.
