The Deutschmeister Brass Band
bids farewell to Bill Kuntscher

Thanks to the initiative of Father Lehmkuhl, Bill had a fitting Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church on Kingshighway and Rhodes.

The sermon of Father Telthorst was just wonderful. He pointed out how important it was for Bill to belong to the Deutschmeister Brass Band, for it was almost like an extended family for him. We know that Bill was very proud to play in the band for so many years, and he took it well, when the ladies sometimes told him, Bill, no white socks with dark trousers!

As we were sitting in church, saddened by Bill’s sudden demise, we felt the spirit of friendship and camaraderie within our organization, and it felt good.

We are very grateful to Nellie Eddleman, the conductor of the Deutschmeister, and all the musicians, for providing such a fitting farewell to Bill with a well-played “Ich hatt’ einen Kameraden”.

Gute Fahrt, Bill!
