Food Day April 2008

Food Day is a traditional event of the childrens’ classes. The teachers set the tables early in the morning. The tableware and napkins are black, red and yellow, symbolizing the colors of the German flag.

The children, who have practiced how to order food in German, now put their skills to the test.

Teachers take on the role of servers in a restaurant and serve the dishes and the beverages to the students.

Children are told about placement of the cutlery and cups and are asked to use their best manners.

“Three Michelin Stars for effort and execution.”

“Guten Appetit” and
“Das schmeckt gut” (This is tasty) can be heard all over.
