Weihnachtsfeier Dezember 2008

The traditional Christmas Party of the German Cultural Society and the German School Association draws a crowd of about 400 people.

The children of the German School perform the program under the experienced guidance of Helga Thalheimer.

Here one of our older students is reading a Christmas story to the students and audience.

Every student presents a German poem.  Some play their musical instruments of choice. The students also sing traditional German Christmas songs.

This year we had a fun performance by German-speaking elves busy with preparations for Christmas.

The children of the kindergarten took center stage. Dressed as angels they sang  ‘Kling Glöckchen, klingelingeling’.

Then Santa arrived with a loud “Ho ho ho.”

Here, the boy on the right hand side for sure hopes that Santa does not overlook him. But Santa knows how many children are in the room and has a gift for every child.

The program ends with two traditional songs:

‘Oh, du fröhliche, oh, du selige, gnadenbringende Weihnachtszeit’

 und

‘Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht’.
